Backflow Prevention


2-inch Backflow Preventer

Backflow Prevention: The District voters authorized implementation of a backflow prevention program. This program is designed to minimize the risks associated with cross-connections between the District’s water supply and any non-potable source of supply. All customers, including businesses, institutions, and residences, will have a backflow preventer installed at their meter. Additional backflow preventers will be required depending upon the degree of hazard posed by each customer’s water uses. All lawn sprinkling systems, for example, must have approved backflow preventers that are installed by licensed plumbers and tested yearly by licensed backflow testers.
